A Quest for Joy, Meaning & Purpose

personal virtues cards app Feb 10, 2020

"If people knew how hard I had to work to gain my mastery, it wouldn’t seem so wonderful at all.”  ~Michelangelo, Renaissance sculptor/painter who spent 4 years lying on his back painting Sistine Chapel ceiling

Behind every great achievement are stories of practice, training, discipline and sacrifice.

While ‘excellence' may require commitment, dedication and a sense of purpose, it doesn’t have to be expensive, time consuming or difficult. Often it’s as simple as having the right tools and knowing how and when to use them.

The Virtues Cards are one of these tools. With regular use, the app allows you to tap into the universal virtues identified in the world’s wisdom and sacred traditions and boost your personal clarity and confidence.

There are many ways to use the Virtues Cards in your daily life.

  • guide you in decision making,
  • heal a relationship,
  • teach your children,
  • or simply provide a positive focus for the day.

Like a book of daily readings, they are designed to help you achieve a strong focus on your personal and professional growth, with far greater utility. The app allows you to access the wisdom in the palm of your hand anytime, anywhere and with anyone.

Below are a few examples of ways to use the Virtues Cards personally and professionally, and within your family, organization, or community.

  • Do a Personal Virtues Pick: Read definitions for a deeper meaning of the words, affirmations and personal practices daily. Reflect and journal about a virtue and its meaning for you
  • Develop strong relationships: Pick a partner, select or randomly pick card and share its meaning for you at this time.
  • Begin a Meeting: Invite someone to pick a virtue and read it aloud. Use it to check-in, focus or close a meeting
  • Build Unity: Select a virtue you want to cultivate with your family or team. Acknowledge others when you see the virtue in action. (Speak the Language download)
  • Define Organization Core Values: Select virtues and apply practices to bring your mission to life.
  • Share with Others: Share a card through text, email or on social media. Do this after a conversation, appreciating a virtue demonstrated, as a birthday card or simply a thoughtful gesture
  • Use for Staff/Team Appraisals: identify strength andgrowth areas and offer meaningful, constructive comments as feedback.

Are you ready to take your life to a higher level and as Gandhi said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world”?
