Uniting with changemakers creating a better future

Virtues are Global

Through international partnerships with organizations like Johns Hopkins University, PeaceJam, ASCD, and Washington DECA, we are bringing Virtues to life with educators, youth, entrepreneurs, and community leaders around the world. Learn about our core programs and the communities we serve below.

Dedication to Virtues

The Virtues Project

"The mission of The Virtues Project is to inspire people of all cultures to remember who we really are and to live by our highest values."

Since 1991, The Virtues Project has been a global initiative inspiring the practice of virtues in everyday life.

As the original Virtues changemaker, the work and dedication of The Virtues Project are fundamental to all of our work at Virtues Matter.

Building Safe & Caring Communities

Johns Hopkins Innovation Fund

Wombwork Productions and Virtues Matter have been awarded a three-year grant for the Baltimore ‘Existential Determinants of Health’ (EDOH) Initiative, a community-based project based on virtues. Baltimore EDOH provides forums for creative expression that promote healing, individual and collective empowerment, and neighborhood improvement.

Johns Hopkins University created the JHU Innovation Fund for Community Safety to support innovative, community-led programs designed to curb violence. The fund builds on the university’s commitment to help to reduce violent crime in Baltimore.

A Commitment to Youth Wellbeing

Washington DECA

Virtues Matter is working in collaboration with Washington DECA to engage and inspire students by applying the language of Virtues to build a culture, connection, and self-care.

We developed the Virtues DECA Cards to support youth wellness and facilitate Virtues practices in young entrepreneurship.

Unity with Global Teachers

City Montessori School, India

We believe that student wellbeing begins with teacher wellbeing. Through a series of workshops and wellness circles, we created a culture of uplift and sharing with teachers at City Montessori School in Lucknow, India.

Through sharing circles, teachers are able to connect in their challenges, develop practices for healing and restoration using The Five Strategies of The Virtues Project, and further their own professional development as facilitators and leaders.

A More Just World

Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands

The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) was created to serve both donors and nonprofit organizations of the Virgin Islands that want to ensure the highest quality of life for both present and future generations. Through our Virtue of the Week partnership, we are deepening an understanding of Virtues living in the Virgin Islands.
